From young in years to those young in spirit, absolute beginners to masters of their craft the art bench has something for everyone. From individuals, social groups and care homes to schools and corporates there are art workshops and events that are suitable for all.
The art bench is a creative platform that lets you have fun while you learn a new artistic skill. We offer a variety of exciting workshops ranging from spin painting, neon life drawing to painting Frida Kahlo over a glass of bubbly. Our workshops are based throughout North London and surrounding areas.
Created by Emily Welham and Tanyel Mustafa who met in 2009 whilst they were teaching art and design in a secondary school. They have over 20 years of practice between them and are passionate about creating art.
“Our focus at The art bench is to make art more accessible to more people through virtual online and live in person events. We believe that art and being creative are things to enjoy and have fun with. We want everyone no matter age, ability or where they live to have a go at some creative mindfulness.”
We are currently striving to become a sustainable, eco- friendly business.
All our aprons and bags are made from biodegradable plastic or organic cotton and our logo is printed using screen printing ink which is formaldehyde free, apeo free, PVC free and heavy metal free.
We use eco friendly acrylic paint which is water based non-toxic, wheat and gluten free. VOC, oil and solvent free. Our drawing paper is made from recycled paper cups and our canvases are made from recycled wood.
We still have a long way to go but our company mission is to be completely eco-friendly by the end of 2022.
